Val’s Pack

We went from running a small farm style dog daycare facility in the fishing town of Gig Harbor, to starting a whole new chapter on 10 acres in the peaceful mountain town of Deer Park, WA with our pack of 4 dogs + 2 spoiled barn cats…

Roman is our first Shiloh, & came to us all the way from New York in 2018. He’s a majestic black & cream dual colored plush coat. Although he was never the most social with strangers, he’s incredibly attuned to other dogs & was the perfect assistant manager for the dog daycare facility. He’s always had a naturally gentle but clear way of setting the tone for calm respectful energy among the pack. He fit our lifestyle so flawlessly, I knew I had found my heart breed & would need another Shiloh!

Cylas is a charming black & red sable plush coat that came to us from Wilderness Kennels in Canada. I fell in love with his dam (Mixal), when she was just a puppy, around the same time we got Roman. I never wavered the desire to have one of her progeny, hence how this wonderful boy joined our family in 2023. He is the epitome of a “mama’s boy.” His eyes rarely leaving mine… as he peers straight in to my soul. He’s the dog that broke me out of my comfort zone by trying various sports, dabbling in conformation shows, & making me fall further head over heels for Shilohs!

Civil is Cylas’ half sister, sharing the same dam. I couldn’t resist another Mixal puppy when I learned of her retirement litter, so we welcomed Civil home in 2024. This time I decided I was ready for a breeding prospect, to fully fuel my passion for Shilohs. Civil sports a striking black sable plush coat & also carries the recessive gene to produce solid black pups. Solid black Shilohs are more rare, since both parents have to carry the recessive gene, & there is only a 25% chance those genes will align to produce a solid black puppy. As a reputable breeder, we will never prioritize color over other genetic & temperament factors… but it’s fun to know the possibility is there! Be sure to check out our page dedicated to all things, Civil!

Ariel is our little odd ball, the Alapaha Blue-Blood Bulldog, from Tennessee. Leave it to me, to find the weird breeds no one can pronounce! When my husband expressed the desire for another “bully” in our lives… I sought the Alapaha for their trainability & health. She’s our resident house hog. If she’s not getting her 20hrs a day of beauty rest, you might catch glimpses of her more lively shenanigans in our IG stories. She’s impressively gentle & playful with puppies, so I know she’ll love helping raise Civil’s future pups.

Fun Fact: Alapahas are the only bully breed that naturally come in merle coat colors, thanks to the Catahoula Leopard Dogs used in early breed development. Alapahas have been an established breed for longer than Shilohs, but are even more rare!
